The damp weather conditions didn't slow the Durrus A.C. athletes in today's Bay Run 10k. Fantastic running by all with some achieving personal bests and meeting their personal targets! Consistent training is clearly paying off.
Mary Lawton was the first home from the Club in a time of 51.06 and next over the line was Annie O'Donovan in 54.07. Majella Collins finished very strong today in 1.01.46. There was no better way for Jimmy Tobin to celebrate his milestone birthday today other than running a 10k race in the rain, which he finished in a time of 59.16. Well done to all.
Michael Harrington ran at the Cork County Masters Track & Field championships today in the 1500m. He finished in a great time of 4:22 and was first in his age group.
Aoibheann Lawton representing Scoil Mhuire and Sophie Harrington representing Colasite Pobail Bheanntrai both ran yesterday in Castleisland at the Munster Schools Track & Field Championships. Aoibheann took part in the Junior girls 1500m and Sophie was part of the Senior girls relay team who finished in 3rd place, but did not progress to the All Ireland finals as only the top 2 spots were up for grabs.
