Leevale A.C. Open Sports T&F

Three of our athletes took part in the Leevale A.C. Open Sports yesterday at C.I.T.  and all three made the podium for the coveted Leevale trophies.   First to run was Ellen Collins in the girls under 16, 800m who had a great run and was being challenged for 3rd position with 200m to go, but Ellen dug deep and had the stronger sprint finish coming in 3rd position overall.   Next on the track were Fionn Harrington & Séan Lawton in the boys u. 15, 800m which was combined with the boys u. 16 800m race.   Both put in very strong performances with a close battle between the top 3 finishers but Fionn edged ahead to take the win followed very closely by Séan who finished in second place.  All three of our athletes were delighted to make the podium to be presented with their trophies.
