Newsletter week ended 02.12.2018






There were brilliant performances all around yesterday by the Durrus AC athletes who were running in muddy conditions in the Munster Juvenile B cross country championships in Riverstick.    Great running by Liam Horstmanoff,  Damien Williams, Finnian Lawton, Bebhinn Horstmanhoff, Anna Townes, Ellen Collins, Caoimhe Horstmanhoff & Caoimhe Cotter.   Medals were awarded to the first 12 finishers, as well as team and County medals.  A special mention to two of our athletes who were both running up an age; Bebhinn Horstmanhoff who finished in 11th place in the girls u. 13 race winning both an individual medal and also a Cork County team gold medal and to Caoimhe Cotter who finished in 5th place in the girls u. 17 race also securing an individual medal and a gold Cork County team medals.

Indoor strength & conditioning training starts this Friday in Durrus Community Hall from 5:45 p.m. - 7 p.m.    Annual registration will also be on at the same time (upstairs room).  There will be a further registration night on Monday next at the same time.    New members are welcome.  

The Club is holding a competition for juvenile members only to create / draw a crest for Durrus Athletic Club.   There will be a prize for the overall winner. More information at the Registration nights.  

Jimmy Tobin is as active as ever running, taking part recently in both the Bere Island Park Run and the challenging Castlehaven Park Run.   Well done Jimmy.
