Well done to our athletes who took part in the South Munster Schools Cross Country competition today at Tramore Valley Park in Cork, representing Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí & Scoil Mhuire, Béal Átha'n Ghaorthaidh. The first 15 individuals across the line along with the top 4 teams secured qualification for the next round of competition, the Munster Schools Cross Country which will be held on Friday the 23rd of February next at Waterford I.T. (Munster Schools Athletics)
Aoibheann Lawton, Ellen Collins and Caoimhe Cotter representing Scoil Mhuire, Béal Átha'n Ghaorthaidh competed in the Junior girls 2000m race and finished in 7th, 14th and 23rd position respectively, and claimed the silver team medals.
Rebecca Harrington representing Coláiste Pobail Bheannraí competed in the Intermediate Girls 3000m race and finished in 8th position.
Sophie Harrington, also representing Coláiste Pobail Bheannraí, took part in the Senior Girls 2500m race and finished in 10th position and was also a scoring member of the team that won the gold medals.
